Willow Run Airport Tenant Meeting November 15, 2012

November 17, 2012

5R/23L Reconstruction

Pavement work slated to begin Spring 2013.  Related drainage work ongoing with expected winter shut down and RWY 5L/23R reopening early November.

Precision Approach Path Indicator

The Airport is working with the State and the FAA to have PAPI lighting systems installed on RWYS 5L and 23R by spring closure of RWY 5R/23L.  This will greatly aid in aircraft arrival operations during the ILS shut down for the 5R reconstruction.  This project should be completed by the end of November.

Proposed Airfield Layout

WCAA is looking to remove RWY 14/32 and reconfigure TWY C to right size the airfield and reduce costs as requested by the FAA for consideration of future grant monies.

ASN Project

One of my personal projects is to have a GA maintenance (oil changes, tire repairs) facility at the Airport.  We are discussing this matter with the airport and interested tenants.

Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology announced their new name change to MIAT College of Technology and the advent of their new Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Aviation Maintenance Degree Program.  Affiliations with existing college programs will be maintained.
