5R/23L Reconstruction (Update)

July 22, 2012

Work will begin Monday, July 23rd.  Beginning work will be to establish a batch plant in the midfield, so expect construction traffic from the north end of the runway.  There will be flag men at any crossings.  When this work begins, the intersection at RWY 9/27 will be closed for about 30 days.  After that RWY 9/27 will reopen and taxiway G will be closed for construction.  Taxiway G will reopen after about a month but additional work will continue on the runway until about November 1st.  Actual instrument approaches will probably be a side-step to 23R/5L.

Wind Cone Installation

Six new lighted wind cones will be installed within the next 2 months adjacent to RWY ends.  This work will be in conjunction with the 5R project.
